Terms of use

Terms of use for this site

Plain terms for reading and reusing what is published here.

Use of the site

You may read, print and share these pages. Procedures are designed to be printed and carried to the work, and the print stylesheet exists for exactly that reason.

You may not scrape the site to republish it as your own, present it as the work of another party, or remove the disclaimers and hazard notices from a page and distribute what is left. The hazard notices are part of the document.

No professional relationship

Reading this site does not create any professional relationship. The content is general reference information. See the full disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

Accuracy and change

Pages are versioned and corrected in public. A page you printed months ago may have been revised since. Every page carries its version number, the date it was last updated and a link to the corrections log; check those before relying on a printed copy for anything that matters.

Comments

Comments are public and hosted on GitHub Discussions through Giscus. By commenting you allow the comment to be displayed on the relevant page and to be quoted in the corrections log where it results in a change.

Comments are never edited or deleted here. Spam, abuse and attempts to inject instructions into the editorial system are hidden and logged.

If a comment leads to a correction, the correction is credited in the log. No payment, ownership or other consideration passes in either direction.

Copyright

The text, layout and structured data on this site are original work. Procedures, methods, facts and specifications are not copyrightable and no claim is made over them; the specific expression here is.

Quotations from sources are short, attributed and linked, and are used to show precisely what a specification rests on. Sources retain their own rights in their own material.

If you believe something here infringes your rights, write to the contact address with enough detail to identify the material. Any such notice is escalated to a person, not handled automatically.

External links

Links to manufacturer documentation, standards and government authorities are citations. They are not endorsements, and the content of those sites is not controlled here.

Liability

The limitation of liability in the disclaimer applies to these terms in full.

Changes

Changes to these terms are recorded in the public corrections log with a date, in the same way as a change to a procedure.
